Are you an experienced F&B / restaurant / bar manager looking for your next challenge in one of the UK's most stunning destinations?

We are seeking an exceptional Operations Manager to join our management team at our established 4-star hotel and spa in the heart of the Lake District. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and hands on hospitality professional to take a leading role in driving operational excellence, guest satisfaction and team engagement across the hotel.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the hotel, ensuring the highest standards of service are consistently delivered across all departments.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the performance of key operational areas including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Guest Services. You will lead by example, inspiring teams to deliver memorable guest experiences while achieving business objectives and financial targets.

The successful candidate will be highly visible within the operation, supporting department heads, developing talent, and ensuring a culture of excellence throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in the overall management of the hotel operation.
  • Lead, coach and develop departmental managers and their teams to achieve exceptional service standards.
  • Ensure the delivery of outstanding guest experiences and maintain excellent guest satisfaction scores.
  • Drive operational efficiency and productivity across all departments.
  • Monitor and control departmental costs in line with budgetary targets.
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety, food safety and company policies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of revenue growth initiatives.
  • Conduct regular operational reviews and performance meetings.
  • Manage guest feedback effectively, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Support recruitment, training and succession planning across the business.
  • Act as Duty Manager as required and provide senior management cover in the absence of the General Manager.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Department Head within a quality hotel environment.
  • Strong understanding of Food & Beverage operations.
  • Proven experience leading large, multi-department teams.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, labour costs and profitability.
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of health, safety and compliance requirements within hospitality.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings when required.
