Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bustling bar. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service. This role involves managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness, and creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. The successful applicant will have a background in restaurant or hotel experience, with a focus on team management and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise bar staff, including bartenders and servers, ensuring efficient service delivery
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing and health & safety regulations
  • Oversee food preparation and ensure quality standards are maintained across all offerings
  • Manage the organisation of food production processes within the bar area, including cocktail creation and presentation
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste and maximise profitability
  • Train new staff members in service procedures, safety protocols, and product knowledge
  • Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction
  • Organise promotional events or themed nights to attract new patrons and retain existing clientele
  • Maintain a welcoming environment that reflects the hospitality standards of the establishment

Skills

  • Proven supervising experience within a hospitality setting, ideally in bars or restaurants
  • Personal licence holder preferred but not essential
  • Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive working environment
  • Excellent knowledge of drinks, cocktails, and bar operations
  • Familiarity with serving procedures, hospitality standards, and customer service excellence
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure
  • Good understanding of kitchen operations and barista experience is advantageous
  • Previous restaurant or hotel experience is highly desirable
