Full job description
Who are we?
We are The Kitchen & Co, a hospitality group delivering catering and hospitality services at a variety of contracted venues across the Cotswolds and West Midlands. Additionally, we provide corporate and private catering across the country.
One House
This is how we get things done and work together; it is our values and ethos representing our professionalism and teamwork.
Our Mission
To deliver the highest standards of hospitality to our clients and guests. Creatively, consistently and with joy!
Our Vision
To create the WOW for all of our guests, team and partners through exceptional hospitality.
The recipe for this is simple; with love and care, add amazing people to outstanding food and drink…mix well and enjoy!
Who is the Multi-Site Hospitality Events Manager, and how do you operate?
- The Multi-Site Hospitality Events Manager (HEM) is responsible for the successful operational delivery of designated live events across our portfolio of venues and locations, providing experienced management support wherever required.
- The role is not assigned exclusively to one specific venue and will operate between venues according to event schedules, business requirements, annual leave, sickness, vacancies, peak periods and wider operational needs.
- The Multi-Site HEM forms part of the Management Team and is expected to confidently integrate into different venue teams and working environments.
- When assigned to an event or venue, the Multi-Site HEM will take appropriate operational ownership, ensuring company standards, procedures and expectations are consistently maintained.
- A key part of the role is the ability to adapt quickly, understand the individual requirements of each venue and provide dependable management support with minimal handover.
- The role will help promote consistency and a One House ethos across all venues, sharing knowledge, supporting teams and maintaining the same high standards regardless of location.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, adaptable and dynamic Multi-Site Hospitality Events Manager to support the successful delivery of events across our portfolio of hospitality venues and locations.
Unlike a venue-specific Hospitality Events Manager, this position will operate flexibly across multiple locations, providing experienced management and additional operational support wherever it is most needed. This may include covering annual leave, sickness and vacancies, supporting particularly busy periods, providing additional management for larger events, or taking responsibility for events at venues requiring additional operational leadership.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across different venues and teams and quickly establishing themselves as a confident and dependable operational leader. They will possess exceptional organisational, interpersonal and leadership skills, alongside a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating outstanding guest experiences.
A love and understanding of food, drink, hospitality and live events is essential, as is the ability to remain calm, organised and solutions-focused within a fast-moving operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Successfully deliver hospitality services across a wide variety of events and venues, including weddings, corporate functions, private parties, conferences and themed events, using agreed event plans and operational information.
- Work flexibly across company venues and locations, providing dependable management support during annual leave, sickness, vacancies, peak periods, large-scale events and other operational requirements.
- Take operational ownership of designated events, leading teams confidently from setup through service to completion and ensuring consistently high standards.
- Adapt quickly to individual venues, familiarising yourself with layouts, procedures, event specifications and venue requirements while maintaining wider company standards.
- Work collaboratively with venue managers and internal departments, including Kitchen, FOH, Admin, Logistics and Senior Management, ensuring effective communication, handovers and seamless event delivery.
- Liaise with clients and the Admin Team when required, translating event requirements into practical, achievable operational plans and supporting pre-event planning where necessary.
- Manage event resources effectively, including staffing, suppliers, equipment, logistics and agreed budgets/P&L requirements.
- Lead, brief, delegate and support event teams, including permanent, temporary and agency staff, providing coaching and training where required and promoting a consistent One House approach.
- Maintain safe, compliant and professional operations, ensuring health and safety, fire regulations, licensing requirements, company procedures and individual venue policies are followed.
- Respond calmly and effectively to operational challenges and last-minute changes, maintaining accurate event records, contributing to post-event debriefs and identifying opportunities to improve consistency and working practices across all venues.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Proven experience in live event management within the hospitality sector, ideally 3–5+ years.
- Previous experience managing events, hospitality operations or teams across multiple venues or locations would be advantageous.
- Proven leadership skills with the confidence to take ownership of an unfamiliar event or venue when required.
- A strong delegator with the ability to quickly establish positive working relationships with different teams.
- Highly adaptable and comfortable working with different teams, venues, clients and styles of event.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- A high degree of flexibility regarding working location and venue allocation, including the ability to travel between company venues as required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays according to event schedules and operational requirements.
- Ability to confidently manage permanent, temporary and agency staff.
- Familiarity with event planning software and tools, with full training provided where required.
- Experience in budget management, cost control and maintaining event profitability.
- Positive, proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to multitask and perform effectively under pressure.
- Good knowledge of current food trends, dietary requirements and different hospitality service styles, including plated dining, buffets, canapés and informal service.
- Ability to manage client communications and resolve issues professionally before, during and after events.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Management, Kitchen, Logistics, Admin, FOH, venue and supplier teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Strong understanding of the importance of maintaining consistent company standards across multiple venues, while recognising the individual operational requirements of each location.
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Events Management or a related field.
- Personal Licence Holder.
- First Aid and/or Food Safety certification.
- Knowledge of UK hospitality and event legislation and standards.
- Full UK driving licence and access to suitable transport would be advantageous due to the multi-site nature of the role.
Nature of the Role
This is a multi-site management position and, as such, the successful candidate should expect their place of work to vary according to the needs of the business and the event calendar.
Some weeks may involve supporting one venue for several consecutive events, while others may require working across different venues and teams. Advance planning will be provided wherever possible; however, the nature of the position requires flexibility and the ability to respond to changing operational requirements.
The Multi-Site Hospitality Events Manager will therefore be someone who thrives on variety, enjoys working with different teams and is confident taking responsibility across multiple locations, while consistently representing the standards, culture and expectations of the company.
