Full job description

About us:

At Total Foodservice, we believe a great workplace starts with great people. Our teams are central to everything we do, combining passion and expertise to deliver high‑quality food solutions to chefs and caterers across the UK. As part of the Country Range Group, Creed has been supporting the foodservice industry since 1972.

We are currently merging with Creed Foodservice, a Kitwave Group business with a strong reputation for customer service. This merger brings together two respected foodservice specialists, strengthening our combined capability and nationwide reach.

Operating from depots in Cheltenham, Ilkeston, High Wycombe, Clitheroe, and York, we provide a reliable one‑stop solution across ambient, chilled, frozen, non‑food, and fresh produce ranges, serving customers across hospitality, education, healthcare, and leisure sectors.

Proud to be a Living Wage accredited employer and recognised as one of the Top 75 Best Companies to Work For in 2023, we continue to put people first and offer genuine opportunities to grow.

About the role:

Being a Driver at Creed Foodservice is much more than meeting each delivery on time. In all of our driving roles you will have the opportunity to get to know your regular customers and deliver a personalised service. Many of our Drivers follow regular routes several days per week and build friendships with the customers that they deliver to, often finding their Coffee or Tea, just the way that they like it when they arrive to deliver to regular routes. Our drivers receive recognition for their positive attitude, friendly jokes, and willingness to help both from our customers and other teams with some being recognised and receiving awards from our Chief Executive and Managing Director.

Being a Driver at Creed isn’t just about ensuring each delivery reaches our customers on time, you are able to build genuine relationships with the Chefs and other staff in a variety of Schools, Care Homes, Pubs, Restaurants, Hotels, Leisure facilities and more and have the autonomy to go the extra mile to deliver excellent service for them because we #BelieveInMore.
Everyone in our business understands the importance of our Drivers and we make sure that every new starter in our business has the opportunity to spend a day being a Drivers Mate as part of their induction, so they fully understand the valuable part that you play, delivering excellent service to our customers and making sure that our customers can prepare delicious meals for theirs.

As well as being a valued member of the team and providing great service to our customers you will make multiple drops in a day, delivering temperature-controlled products (both frozen and refrigerated) so you will need to carry out temperature checks and ensure that you take the necessary breaks required to avoid tacho infringements. Your safety is important to us, so we want you to follow all legislative requirements, including drivers hour’s and to drive with due care and attention. You will also need to complete all of the necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely fashion (VC40, Temperature Records, Debrief), Conduct all daily checks, resolve any issues and report any accidents that may occur and ensure that the vehicle (and where applicable fridge and freezer) are fuelled.

The ideal candidate:

  • Enjoy talking to people, building relationships and delivering great service to customers.
  • Want to work for a company that values you and the important role that you play in the business.
  • Are a team player who is willing to help others to make sure that hungry people are fed, on time.
  • Want to work somewhere where others will help you to get your customers the right products on time.
  • Want to get to know and build friendships at work, instead of just delivering products to different people every day.
  • Are Friendly, adaptable and comfortable with accommodating schedule changes to ensure that all of our customers receive great service.
  • Have a Class 2 Licence and Full CPC hours and can manage your time to ensure you drive safely, taking the right breaks.
  • Multi-drop and temperature controlled delivery experience will set your application at a distinct advantage.
  • Tail lift experience
  • Valid Tachograph card

Hours of Work

44 hours per week over Monday - Friday with additional Saturday Cover as required 6:30am - 15:00pm - 30 mins Break

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age, as outlined in our equal opportunities policy.
