Full job description

Overview

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for providing daily production plans for the boning halls and slaughter hall. We are seeking a determined and committed individuals who can impact on performance and make a positive contribution to the company's future growth.

Responsibilities

The Role:
  • To prepare daily planning forecasts to assist with the overall timely co-ordination and optimisation of the factory and its resources (facilities, people, packaging etc).
  • To prepare commercially driven weekly slaughter and boning plans that are designed to optimise factory utilisation and performance.
  • To co-ordinate the day to day running of the primary operation through the scheduling of work and use of daily plans.
  • To monitor actual operating performance against the plans and ensure corrective re-planning action is taken to address any variances.
  • To ensure all customers receives 100% service level.
  • Updating forecast figures on to KPI spread sheets.
  • Work with sales department well in advance of availability of surplus stocks to avoid last minute sales.

Qualifications

The Person:
  • Previous experience in production planning, preferably in red meat processing
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Possess strong planning and analysis skills with the ability to implement processes and procedures and to track progress.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office packages, in particular Excel.
  • Committed to working within the Company Values.
