We are looking for an experienced and reliable Weekend Pub Supervisor to support the management team in the day-to-day running of the pub.

Working Saturday evenings and Sundays, you will play a key role in ensuring the pub operates smoothly across both the bar and restaurant, the team is well supported, and our customers receive a friendly, efficient and enjoyable experience.

This is a hands-on supervisory position for someone who is confident taking responsibility, leading a team and making decisions during service. You will work closely with the Pub Manager and act as a key point of contact for the team during the weekend, helping to maintain high standards across the entire operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Pub Manager with the smooth running of the pub during busy weekend trading.
• Take responsibility for the pub during shifts when the manager is not present.
• Lead, support and motivate the team across both the bar and restaurant.
• Allocate staff duties and ensure the team remains organised throughout service.
• Oversee the customer journey from arrival through to departure, ensuring a consistently high level of service.
• Ensure food and drinks are delivered efficiently and to the expected standard.
• Support the team during busy periods, remaining hands-on and leading by example.
• Deal confidently and professionally with customer questions, comments and complaints.
• Handle day-to-day issues that arise during service and escalate matters to the manager when required.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation throughout the pub.
• Monitor stock levels and help minimise wastage, breakages and stock loss.
• Assist with deliveries, stock checks and general stock control.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service and all relevant licensing requirements are followed.
• Support the team in delivering promotions and maximising sales through excellent customer service and appropriate upselling.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures and ensure the pub is left clean, secure and ready for the next trading period.
• Ensure all areas of the pub are maintained to the required operational and customer service standards.
• Communicate important information, issues and feedback to the Pub Manager following weekend shifts.
• Help maintain a positive, professional and team-focused working environment.
• Act as a reliable point of contact for the team and management throughout the weekend.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced hospitality professional who is confident supervising a team and taking responsibility for the overall running of a busy pub.

You will be:

• Experienced in a pub, restaurant or wider hospitality supervisory role.
• Confident leading a team across both food and drink service.
• Comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions when the manager is not present.
• Customer-focused, friendly and approachable.
• Able to deal calmly and professionally with customer issues and busy service periods.
• Organised, reliable and able to maintain high standards across the whole operation.
• Comfortable working across both restaurant and bar service when required.
• Commercially aware, with an understanding of sales, upselling and promotions.
• A strong team player who is happy to be hands-on and lead by example.
• Confident communicating with both customers and colleagues.
