Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Chef to join our culinary team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food and eager to develop their skills in a professional kitchen environment. The role involves supporting the kitchen team in preparing and cooking dishes, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and gaining valuable experience in the hospitality industry. Duties

  • Assisting with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
  • Learning and supporting various cooking techniques under supervision
  • Preparing ingredients for meal service in accordance with recipes and standards
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area to comply with food safety regulations
  • Assisting with meal assembly and presentation before serving
  • Supporting the team during busy service periods, including serving dishes when required
  • Ensuring all food safety protocols are followed at all times
  • Participating in ongoing training sessions to develop culinary skills and knowledge

Qualifications

  • A genuine interest in food preparation and cooking
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Basic knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from senior chefs
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards work
