About Company Bakery

The mission of Company Bakery has always been simple: to create exceptional sourdough and pastries using traditional techniques, the finest ingredients, and the most sustainable methods possible.

Founded in Edinburgh in 2017 by four friends from the food and drink industry, the ethos of Company Bakery has always been centred on quality: in our products, in our people, in our relationships, and in everything we do.

Eight years on, we serve Edinburgh, the Lothians, and Glasgow seven days a week, supplying hundreds of cafes, restaurants, caterers, shops and homes, in addition to having our very own cafe in Musselburgh.

The Role

We’re looking for a dedicated Bread Baker to join our growing production team. You’ll work closely with a skilled group of bakers in a purpose-built site featuring large windows that connect our production space to our café—highlighting the beauty of the baking process.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Mixing, shaping, and baking sourdough and other artisan breads
  • Maintaining high standards of quality and consistency in every loaf
  • Collaborating with the wider production team and supporting the pastry section when needed
  • Following food safety and allergen protocols

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a commercial bakery, professional kitchen, or similar setting (12 months minimum preferred)
  • A strong interest in sourdough bread and a willingness to learn traditional baking techniques
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production timelines
  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for being part of a close-knit team
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and allergen management

Working Hours

  • Shifts run between 7am and midnight, 10 hours per shift
  • 4-day working week over 7 days (including weekends)
  • Varied shift patterns with both early and late options available

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Cycle to work scheme

Experience:

  • Baking: 1 year (required)
  • Kitchen: 1 year (preferred)
