Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Coffee Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our vibrant coffee shop. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a background in food and beverage service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and managing the overall smooth running of the establishment. Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality environments is highly desirable, particularly with food preparation, barista, and team management. The Coffee Shop Supervisor will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers while supporting the team to deliver high-quality service.

Pay: £13.10 per hour, rising to £13.60 after passing a 3 month probation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily coffee shop operations, ensuring efficient workflow and excellent customer service.
  • Lead and motivate team members, providing guidance and support to foster a positive working environment.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of the shop.
  • Manage stock levels, organise inventory checks, and coordinate with suppliers as necessary.
  • Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Train new staff members on service procedures, health & safety protocols, and food production standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace in accordance with health regulations.
  • Assist in menu planning and product development to enhance customer experience.

Experience

  • Proven supervising experience within a hospitality or restaurant setting is essential.
  • Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.
  • Experience working as a barista or in café environments is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in food production.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
