Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional service within a fast-paced restaurant or hotel environment. This role involves supporting the management team in overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily restaurant or hotel operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery
  • Supervise and motivate team members to maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
  • Coordinate staff schedules, delegate tasks, and monitor performance to optimise productivity
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards across all areas of the establishment
  • Support training programmes for new staff members in areas such as food safety, service procedures, and kitchen protocols
  • Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints promptly to maintain excellent guest relations
  • Assist in inventory management, including stock control and ordering supplies as needed
  • Contribute to menu planning and development in collaboration with the culinary team
  • Uphold organisational policies related to hospitality, food production, and cleanliness

Experience

  • Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hotel setting is essential
  • Strong background in food preparation, cooking, or culinary arts is highly desirable
  • Experience in team management and leadership roles within hospitality environments
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production
  • Previous experience serving guests or managing front-of-house operations is advantageous
  • Familiarity with kitchen operations, including food safety protocols and kitchen equipment handling
  • Experience working as a supervisor or in hospitality roles such as serving is beneficial but not mandatory
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining a positive work environment
