Amber Restaurant | Aldgate East

Amber has been part of Aldgate East since 2018. We're an independent restaurant serving weekend brunch, lunch and dinner, inspired by the Eastern Mediterranean, Turkey and London's diverse food culture.

We care about cooking with good ingredients, serving food we're proud of and making people feel genuinely welcome. We're a busy neighbourhood restaurant with a loyal team and guests who come back because they enjoy the experience as much as the food.

We're looking for an Assistant Manager to work alongside our Restaurant Manager and Head Chef. Middle Eastern restaurant experience isn't important. We'd rather find someone who enjoys hospitality, likes being part of a team and wants to keep learning.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading services and supporting the team on the restaurant floor.
  • Making sure every guest feels welcome and leaves having had a great experience.
  • Running the restaurant when the Restaurant Manager isn't there.
  • Training and supporting the front of house team.
  • Leading daily briefings before service.
  • Working closely with the kitchen to keep service running smoothly.
  • Helping with rotas, stock ordering and the day-to-day operation of the restaurant.
  • Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and organisation.
  • Building good relationships with our regular guests and getting to know new ones.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in a Supervisor or Assistant Manager role in a busy restaurant.
  • Someone who enjoys being on the floor rather than behind a laptop.
  • A positive attitude and the confidence to lead by example.
  • An interest in good food, drinks and hospitality.
  • Someone who wants to stay, grow and become part of the business.
  • Full right to work in the UK.
