Full job description

The Shoregate, Crail, is a listed restaurant and bar with four large letting bedrooms, in the heart of this beautiful fishing village. In the four years since opening we've received great reviews for our food, location and friendliness of service.

We want to build something Crail can be proud of and create a business that provides great food and hospitality, and great employment opportunities, to the community all year round.

We are now looking to add to our team of wait and bar staff already on board.

We aim to offer flexible terms and competitive salaries for both part-and full-time staff. We will offer training for the roles, and fund qualifications for those interested in taking their careers further.

Everyone will get training and, depending on role, an allowance to take and qualify for the SCPLH Personal Licence (SCQF Level 6).

You’ll be ready to give great customer service and know, or be eager to learn, everything about drinks service, cocktails and maintaining a cellar.

A successful restaurant is only as good as the front-of-house team. Whatever your level of experience, if you think you can make our guests feel welcome and that nothing is too much bother, we’d love to meet you.

Each role will require applicants to:

  • Ensure customers are continuously delighted with the service and offering at The Shoregate.
  • Help build a reputation for excellence, friendliness and commitment to the community.
  • Handle compliments and complaints with equal confidence.
  • Be willing to learn our till and payment systems.

In return we will offer:

  • £12.75 per hour plus tips - £1 to £2 extra per hour on average
  • Staff meal on shift
  • Paid breaks
