We’re on the lookout for a Head Waiter / Head Waitress to join the front-of-house team at The Forest Side Hotel, an award-winning Michelin-star restaurant, Michelin Key hotel, 5 AA Rosette dining destination, and proudly listed in the Top 100 Restaurants in the UK.

About Us

Nestled in the heart of Grasmere, The Forest Side is all about refined dining without the stuffiness. We focus on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, beautiful surroundings, and genuine hospitality. Our team is passionate, professional, and supportive – and we take our work seriously, but not ourselves!

The Role

As Head Waiter / Waitress, you’ll be a key part of the service team, leading by example and ensuring every guest receives outstanding, relaxed and professional service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a section during service and supporting the wider FOH team
  • Delivering knowledgeable, friendly and polished service
  • Training and mentoring junior team members
  • Working closely with the restaurant manager and sommelier
  • Ensuring service standards are consistently exceptional
  • Being a warm, welcoming presence for our guests

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in high-quality or fine dining (Michelin experience a bonus, but not essential)
  • Is confident, organised and calm under pressure
  • Has a genuine love for hospitality and great food
  • Enjoys working as part of a close-knit team
  • Has great communication skills and a positive attitude

Salary

£28,000 to £30,000 Plus Tips - (£350 to £550) Per Month

Two Day Closure Mondays and Tuesday ALL Year

Live in from £200 per Month (Inc Bills)
