A little bit about us:
We are an independent and highly acclaimed business of two venues; a Good Food Guide top 100 pub just outside Rye and a MICHELIN guide listed neighbourhood restaurant in the centre of Rye.
Our ethos is simple: we want to source the best of Britain and showcase it to our guests in the best way possible.
You can expect incredible service and excellent seasonal food, alongside a brilliant and extensive wine list. We believe our team is integral to our business and creating an environment where you can enjoy and benefit from your role is incredibly important to us.

- A willingness to learn and develop. There is much room for growth within the business.
- Must be able to drive or have a reliable method of transport to get to and from work. The Plough is a five minute drive from Rye with no public transport links. The Union is a 5 minute walk from Rye train station.
Benefits:
- 50% team member discount for you and up to three guests every month when you dine at either The Plough or our sister pub The Union.
- Regular team trips to local vineyards for tours & tastings and trips to visit our local suppliers.
- All working team members receive an equal share of cash tips regardless of their role.
- Personal development plan tailored to you, with external courses paid for by us to support your ongoing learning, for example WSET Wine qualifications and First Aid certifications.
- Free access to mental health and one on one counselling sessions with a professional, plus legal and financial advice via Peninsula, our employee assistance program.
- £250 bonus scheme if you refer a friend to work with us and they complete a three-month probation.
- A CODE HOSPITALITY membership fully paid for by us. This gives you access to great industry discounts and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly manner, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Take and process customer orders accurately while providing menu recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area and service stations.
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulations during food handling and serving.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
- Manage time effectively to provide efficient service during busy periods.
