Restaurant Manager – The Kensington Arms

The Role

The Kensington Arms is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Restaurant Manager to lead our front-of-house operations. As a cornerstone of the local community, we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional experience across our diverse offerings—from the warm, welcoming atmosphere of our cozy pub to the refined service required in our Chophouse, Grill, and private dining spaces.

We are looking for a seasoned professional with at least 5 years fine dining experience who understands that true hospitality is in the details. You will be responsible for maintaining our high standards of service, ensuring that every guest—whether joining us for a casual pint or a private event—receives a seamless and memorable experience.

Your Responsibilities*

Operational Excellence: Oversee the daily management of the restaurant, ensuring that service flow, presentation, and atmosphere consistently meet our high expectations.* Leadership & Collaboration: Work closely with our experienced Bar Manager, Assistant Manager, and senior kitchen team to foster a cohesive, high-performing environment. You will be a leader who empowers the team while maintaining clear standards.* Guest Relations: Lead by example in guest engagement. You will be the face of The Kensington Arms, anticipating guest needs, handling feedback with grace, and building long-term rapport with our clientele.*

Standards & Quality Control: Uphold the reputation of our Chophouse and Grill by ensuring the front-of-house team has the product knowledge and service skills to match the quality of our kitchen’s output.* Business Performance: Monitor operational costs, staff scheduling, and service efficiency to ensure the business remains both profitable and focused on quality.

The Ideal Candidate*

Proven Experience: You have a significant track record in managing high-end, busy, or multi-faceted hospitality venues. You understand the nuances of a premium grill/chophouse environment and the demands of private dining.* High Standards: You have an uncompromising eye for detail. You understand that "good enough" is not acceptable and are committed to maintaining the highest standards for our guests and our team.*

Leadership Maturity: You are a confident, collaborative leader. You know how to work effectively with an established, experienced team, bringing a steady hand to the helm while fostering a culture of mutual respect and excellence.* Adaptability: You are equally comfortable managing the fast-paced energy of a busy grill service as you are overseeing the personalised, intimate requirements of our private dining room.
