Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will assist with basic food preparation, dishwashing, and general kitchen duties to ensure smooth operations within our restaurant or hospitality setting. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the hospitality industry and develop culinary skills in a professional environment.

Duties

  • Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards
  • Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
  • Supporting chefs with ingredient organisation and stock replenishment
  • Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment throughout shifts
  • Ensuring waste disposal is handled efficiently and in accordance with health regulations
  • Assisting with the setup and breakdown of dining areas when required
  • Supporting the team during busy service periods to ensure smooth workflow

Skills

  • Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential
  • Familiarity with restaurant or hotel environments is desirable
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and customer service
  • Strong work ethic with a focus on cleanliness and safety standards
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene regulations and health & safety procedures
