Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Kitchen Porter and be a vital part of delivering exceptional dining experiences. In this energetic role, you will support the kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the kitchen environment remains safe, organized, and efficient. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to the smooth running of our busy hospitality setting, whether in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment. Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment to uphold health and safety standards
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing vegetables, peeling ingredients, and organising supplies
  • Support chefs and kitchen staff in cooking activities when needed, ensuring timely service delivery
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling processes efficiently to keep the kitchen tidy
  • Ensure all dishes, utensils, and cookware are properly stored and sanitized after use
  • Help with setting up and clearing dining areas during service times in hospitality settings
  • Follow safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and maintain a secure working environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food preparation or working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and food safety standards
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending comfortably
  • Strong team player with good communication skills
  • Willingness to follow instructions carefully and work efficiently under pressure
  • Experience in cooking or culinary activities is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates
