Full job description

New Ground Cafe are seeking an experienced person to join their team.

At New Ground we pride ourselves on creating an exceptional experience for all of our customers. And require the correct candidate to have the same level of care and passion.

The ideal candidate will need to have a thorough knowledge of preparing speciality coffee. Plus have the confidence to serve customers from main counter and at table.

*Responsibilities*

- Have at least two years experience in speciality coffee.

- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and smoothies.

- Must be able to steam milk for various drinks.

- Be able to confidently operate and clean coffee-making equipment such as espresso machines and grinders.

- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the coffee preparation area .

- Provide a decent level of barista training to current or new staff.

- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with patrons in a friendly manner.

- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register.

- Be able when necessary to provide table service, take, build and run orders.

- Must be available for 3 weekends of the working month

*Qualifications*

- Knowledge of food safety practices to ensure the wellbeing of customers.

- Experience in food preparation, particularly in making coffee-based drinks.

- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and measuring ingredients accurately.

- Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently.

- Strong team spirit essential
