Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the daily operations of our kitchen by assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and general kitchen duties. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy culinary environment, ideal for individuals passionate about catering, cooking, and food service. The Kitchen Assistant will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests while ensuring high standards of hygiene and efficiency are maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
  • Support the catering team during events, functions, and daily service periods
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment
  • Help with the safe storage of ingredients and supplies, adhering to food safety regulations
  • Prepare ingredients such as chopping vegetables or portioning ingredients for cooking
  • Support the serving staff by providing necessary items during service times
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members
  • Assist with inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed

Requirements

  • Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
  • Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation processes
