Herb Garden Restaurant Supervisor

Whitehall Garden Centre is a family-run and award-winning business, and an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our inspirational team as a Restaurant Supervisor at our beautiful Herb Garden Restaurant at our Lacock Garden Centre.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual who is passionate about excellent customer service, hospitality and leading a team. You will play an important role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the restaurant, while creating a warm, friendly and welcoming experience for every customer.

The ideal candidate will be confident, organised and able to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment. You will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to motivate and support colleagues to maintain our high standards.

Full Time - every other weekend and four days per week

Restaurant Supervisor Duties

• Supervising and supporting the restaurant team on a day-to-day basis
• Ensuring all customers are greeted warmly and offered assistance
• Providing an excellent standard of customer service at all times
• Handling customer queries and resolving any issues courteously and efficiently
• Supporting the Catering Operations Manager with the smooth running of the restaurant
• Ensuring the restaurant is clean, tidy, welcoming and presented to a high standard
• Ensuring tables are cleared promptly and efficiently
• Overseeing the preparation and service of food and drinks to the required company standards
• Ensuring food is stored, handled and served in accordance with company standards and procedures
• Operating the till and ensuring all transactions are handled accurately and courteously
• Assisting with opening and closing procedures
• Supporting staff with their daily duties and helping to maintain high levels of teamwork and efficiency
• Leading by example and motivating the team during busy periods
• Monitoring service standards and addressing any issues promptly
• Assisting with training and supporting new members of the restaurant team
• Ensuring company health, safety, hygiene and customer service standards are maintained
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties required to support the successful running of the restaurant

The Ideal Candidate

• Has previous experience in a supervisory or senior hospitality role
• Has a genuine passion for providing excellent customer service
• Is confident leading and motivating a team
• Has excellent communication and organisational skills
• Can remain calm and professional in a busy environment
• Has a positive, friendly and approachable manner
• Is reliable, flexible and willing to get involved
• Has good attention to detail and takes pride in maintaining high standards
• Is comfortable operating tills and handling transactions
• Previous restaurant, café or hospitality experience is essential
