Full job description

At The Bear Inn Hodnet, we are looking for a Kitchen Porter to help keep the engine room running.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces.
  • Checking deliveries and putting them away correctly.
  • Follow safety and hygiene standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Follow a strict clean down protocol at the end of shift.

About you

  • Reliable and conscientious worker
  • Carry out tasks competently and safely
  • Organised, clean and tidy
  • Be available to work nighttime shifts (normally finish at 10.30pm)
  • Can drive or is able to attend shifts with regular transport (buses are not reliable in Hodnet)

Previous experience as a kitchen assistant, kitchen porter, pot washer or kitchen cleaner in a busy pub, restaurant or hotel is preferred but not essential.  Most importantly you will be keen to work in a friendly kitchen where you’ll really be part of the team.

Please note you must be age 16 or over. As a business we are open Tuesday to Sunday breakfast. Most shifts available are midweek and weekend evening shifts.
