Overview

The post holder will lead the day-to-day operation of a FED café shift, ensuring excellent customer service, high quality products, strong team performance and a clean, safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales by consistently delivering a high standard of product and customer service led by engaged and friendly staff
  • Lead and support the team during service, creating a floor plan with 'aces in places' to ensure a smooth running shift and effective deployment of staff
  • Manage staff breaks effectively and support the General Manager in achieving labour targets
  • Amend shift deployment where necessary to ensure labour targets remain aligned with sales fluctuations
  • Responsible for managing both sweet and savoury displays, ensuring daily baked products are prepared and cooked correctly at the appropriate time of day
  • Deliver memorable customer experiences and proactively resolve customer concerns where appropriate
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the café
  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures are followed correctly by the team at all times
  • Responsible for stock management, daily ordering and wastage recording
  • Completion of daily paperwork including cleaning checklists and food safety records
  • Work flexibly, responding to the needs of the business when required and covering other positions where necessary
  • Work closely with the senior management team in all areas of work and carry out any other reasonable requests from the business owners in order to support the maintenance and growth of FED

Person Profile Specification

  • Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional customer service
  • Strong leadership skills and confidence managing a team during busy service periods
  • Ability to motivate and engage colleagues to create a positive working environment
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Confidence making decisions and solving problems during service
  • Good understanding of labour management, stock control and café operations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear direction to the team
  • Good understanding of food hygiene, safety and allergen awareness
  • In-depth menu and company knowledge and the ability to talk enthusiastically to people about what we do
  • Lead by example and exemplify our core values of having fun at work, taking pride in what you do and developing within the company

Pay: £13.00-£13.75 per hour
