3‑Star | 38 Bedrooms | Independently Owned & Family Run

Pay: Up to £12.80 per hour Live‑In Available | Immediate Start | Full time

The Cottage Hotel is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Front of House Team Members to join our friendly and supportive team. As a family‑run, 3‑star hotel overlooking the stunning Hope Cove, we pride ourselves on warm hospitality, excellent service and a welcoming working environment.

We are looking for team members who are passionate about hospitality, enjoy engaging with guests, and can support both customer service and basic kitchen duties when needed.

Key Duties

  • Greet guests warmly on arrival and assist with seating arrangements.
  • Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring excellent guest service.
  • Upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience and support sales.
  • Assist with basic food preparation while maintaining food safety standards. the cleanliness and organisation of the front‑of‑house area, including tables, chairs, and service stations.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Handle guest enquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction. Perform basic math calculations for billing and order processing.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and guest‑interaction skills.
  • Ability to upsell menu items effectively. Capable of basic culinary tasks when required. Proficient in basic maths for accurate transactions.
  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not essential.
  • Positive team player who can work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
