Fodder in the Woods is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant to join our team.

Looking for a weekend job to fit around your main job?

This role would be ideal for someone looking to earn some extra money alongside a weekday job or other commitments, with regular weekend hours.

It's a hands-on kitchen role, so you'll be doing more than just washing dishes. You'll help keep the kitchen clean and organised while also getting involved with food preparation, assembling dishes and plating food.

What you'll be doing

  • Washing dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment
  • Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and organised
  • Helping with food preparation
  • Preparing vegetables, salads, garnishes and other ingredients
  • Following recipes and preparation instructions
  • Assembling and plating dishes
  • Supporting the chefs during busy services
  • Keeping work areas stocked and organised
  • Helping with deliveries and putting stock away
  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene standards
  • Pitching in wherever needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly

Requirements

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Over 18
  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Hardworking and energetic
  • Happy working in a busy environment
  • Comfortable working as part of a team
  • Organised and able to follow instructions
  • Interested in food and keen to learn
  • Not afraid to get stuck in!
  • Available to work regular Saturdays and Sundays
