Job Summary

Bull and Bar is looking for a reliable and customer-focused Front of House Supervisor to oversee daily service, support the team and ensure customers receive a welcoming and efficient experience. The role includes managing customer queries, coordinating takeaway platforms and supervising front-of-house operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise front-of-house staff and allocate duties during each shift.
  • Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service.
  • Handle customer queries, complaints and special requests promptly.
  • Monitor orders from takeaway platforms and ensure they are accepted, prepared and dispatched accurately and on time.
  • Communicate with kitchen staff, delivery drivers and customers to resolve order issues.
  • Manage table bookings, seating and the flow of service.
  • Support staff during busy periods and maintain high service standards.
  • Check food and drink orders for accuracy and presentation.
  • Process payments, refunds and till transactions correctly.
  • Train and support new front-of-house team members.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and safety throughout customer areas.
  • Monitor stock levels for front-of-house supplies and report shortages.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cashing up.
  • Report operational issues, customer feedback and shift performance to management.
  • Follow food safety, licensing and company procedures at all times.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service or a supervisory role.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence handling complaints and difficult situations calmly.
  • Ability to manage takeaway platforms and multiple orders.
  • Good organisation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead a team and work effectively under pressure.
  • Basic till, cash-handling and computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Personal Qualities

The successful candidate will be reliable, approachable and proactive, with a positive attitude and a commitment to excellent customer service. They should be comfortable taking responsibility, supporting colleagues and making decisions during busy shifts.
