Job Summary

The Fox & Hounds is re opening on August 1st and we are looking for new and enthusiastic people to join our front of house team. Hours include evening and weekend work and we are looking for people over the age of 18 who thrive on working as part of a team.

In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our establishment, ensuring guests receive exceptional service from arrival to departure. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food service, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and seat them promptly, creating a welcoming atmosphere
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems, ensuring efficient service
  • Serve food and drinks with professionalism and attention to detail
  • Assist in food preparation when required, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and maximise sales opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
  • Handle customer enquiries or complaints courteously, resolving issues promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness of the front-of-house area, including tables, counters, and seating arrangements
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of service

Experience

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred, training will be provided
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures is advantageous
  • Familiarity with basic maths for billing and cash handling purposes is beneficial
  • Experience in food preparation or culinary roles can be an asset but is not mandatory
  • Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
  • Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and sales performance
