Job Summary

Join our small Close knit team as a Kitchen Assistant, where your passion for food and enthusiasm to deliver quality dishes will help create a dynamic and efficient kitchen environment. In this role, you will support chefs and kitchen staff by preparing ingredients, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Your energy and attention to detail will contribute to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced setting, making a positive impact on every guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with meal preparation, predominantly on our cold section, preparing salads and sandwiches etc.
  • Support cooking activities under the supervision of chefs (must be able to poach an egg!)
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in accordance with food safety standards
  • Help with food storage, labeling, and inventory management to prevent waste and ensure freshness
  • Must have an keen eye for detail, creating dishes that are appealing to look at as well as to taste.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations to uphold a safe kitchen environment.

Skills

  • Experience in catering or restaurant environments demonstrating familiarity with kitchen operations
  • Strong cooking skills with knowledge of meal preparation techniques
  • Prior food preparation or culinary experience preferred but not mandatory; eagerness to learn is valued
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff
