Full job description

Crowne Plaza Harrogate is looking for an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to take day-to-day ownership of the hotel's F&B outlets — restaurant, bar and room service — with real accountability for cost control, forecasting and standards.

The Role

  • Manage the daily running of the food and beverage outlets, ensuring service standards are consistently met across restaurant, bar and room service

  • Plan, organise and direct the F&B operation, including administration, marketing and promotion of the outlets

  • Take responsibility and accountability for outlet profitability and revenue generation

  • Implement and maintain control measures so that F&B costs, labour costs, productivity and operating supply costs stay in line with budget

  • Prepare weekly and monthly forecasts for restaurant, bar and room service

  • Carry out Duty Management shifts according to business needs

  • Participate in departmental meetings to review progress against business plan goals

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety procedures

  • Keep clear, regular communication with the Food and Beverage Manager, Head Chef, Conference and Events Manager and Operations Manager

We're looking for a strong leader with good interpersonal and training skills, someone service-oriented with an eye for detail, and a motivator who gets the best out of a team.

Working Hours

We operate 7 days a week, 365 days a year, so this role involves a range of shifts and days, with more demand generally during evenings and weekends. Exact shift patterns and contracted hours can be discussed at interview.

Supporting Your Hospitality Career Growth

  • Fully funded apprenticeship programmes, including nationally recognised courses alongside our detailed brand training

  • Internal development programmes designed to support you as you grow within your role

  • Monthly and annual team member service awards, recognising and celebrating your achievements

About the Hotel

Set in the centre of Harrogate, Crowne Plaza Harrogate offers six fully equipped meeting spaces for up to 400 guests, with a dedicated Meetings Director on site, and is directly connected to the Harrogate Convention Centre — making it a natural base for conference and events business as well as leisure guests. The hotel's Springs Restaurant and Springs Bar serve food and drink throughout the day, and guests have access to an on-site gym. Harrogate itself is a Victorian spa town in the heart of Yorkshire, known for its boutique shopping, high-quality eateries and green spaces including the Valley Gardens, with the town's train station just a short walk from the hotel.
