Full job description

We are looking for driven, enthusiastic individuals to become key members of our dedicated team, at Restaurant Myse. Restaurant Myse is a MICHELIN-starred restaurant with rooms in the rural village of Hovingham, North Yorkshire.

Mýse celebrates the ancient North Yorkshire terrain that surrounds the restaurant. Named after the Anglo-Saxon word for ‘eating at the table' Chef Joshua Overington draws on the area's rich history with an "elegant spin on traditional Yorkshire cooking".

Front of House Position

  • Similar Experience preferred but not essential, just the right attitude, a passion to learn and an interest in fine dining service. All training will be provided
  • All aspects of service, including set-up of the restaurant, assisting with the bar and drinks service, food and table service, checking-in guests to the rooms and evening close-down
  • 4-day working week, from Wednesday to Sunday including breakfast, day and evenings
  • Small, professional team environment
  • Daily staff meal provided in full time position
  • Salary (full-time) or hourly pay (part-time), plus monthly service charge and tips
  • Closed Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/Boxing Day
  • Assistance with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, fridges and all storage areas is required.
  • You will understand the importance of food hygiene regulations and allergy awareness and will help to ensure that all food items are handled (within your role) to company specification in accordance with the Food Safety manual and EHO directives.
  • You have a positive can-do attitude, attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the team, not to mention a genuine passion for restaurants.
  • Car or own transport must be available due to our rural location. Free parking provided.
