Full job description

A restaurant server provides friendly, efficient service by welcoming guests, taking accurate food and beverage orders, and delivering meals promptly. They are responsible for maintaining table cleanliness, explaining menu items, managing payments, and ensuring a high-quality dining experience. Key skills include multitasking, communication, and menu knowledge. Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Welcoming guests, providing menus, answering questions about ingredients, and making recommendations.
  • Order Taking & Delivery: Recording orders accurately (including dietary restrictions) and delivering food/drinks promptly.
  • Table Maintenance: Clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables (bussing) between guests.
  • Point of Sale: Processing payments, managing cash/cards, and splitting checks.
  • Collaboration: Working with kitchen staff to ensure order accuracy and timing.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Communication: Interacting professionally with guests and coworkers.
  • Multitasking: Managing multiple tables efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Stamina: Standing and walking for long periods and carrying trays.
  • Menu Knowledge: Familiarity with menu items, ingredients, and pairings.
  • Experience: Previous experience in food service is often preferred, but not always required.
