Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will assist senior chefs in daily kitchen operations, gaining valuable experience in meal preparation, food safety, and restaurant procedures. This paid apprenticeship is ideal for individuals passionate about pursuing a career in the culinary arts and eager to learn from experienced professionals.

Duties

  • Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and organising ingredients for various dishes
  • Support the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from senior chefs
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen activities
  • Help with the organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen workspace, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
  • Prepare ingredients and components for meal service in line with established standards
  • Support the team during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery of meals
  • Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment at all times
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere within the kitchen team

Experience

  • Previous experience in food preparation or cooking is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
  • Some experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is advantageous
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is beneficial
  • Familiarity with basic kitchen equipment and tools such as knives, mixers, and ovens is preferred
  • A genuine interest in culinary arts and a willingness to learn new skills is essential
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are important for success in this role

Working Hours: 10-40Hrs per week
