Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-time Chef to join our culinary team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a flair for food preparation and cooking to showcase their skills in a dynamic environment. We are looking for an experienced chef, but in saying this, this could be a college student who has just graduated and looking for their first job. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing delicious meals, maintaining high standards of food safety, and contributing to a welcoming dining experience. Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred, but a genuine enthusiasm for culinary arts is essential. This position will start at minimum wage with the opportunity of a wage rise after the probationary time is done.

Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
• Assist in meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery during service hours
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
• Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
• Ensure all food is prepared in a hygienic manner, following health and safety guidelines
• Support the team in maintaining a smooth workflow during service times

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen or restaurant setting
• Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Experience with working around and with freshly prepared food, all home cooked fresh to order
• Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and culinary trends
• Experience in serving or front-of-house duties is advantageous but not essential
• Enthusiasm for learning new recipes and culinary skillsThis position provides an engaging environment for aspiring chefs or those passionate about the culinary arts, offering valuable experience in a supportive team setting.
• Preferably a drivers license or learning to drive, but not a deal breaker as long as you have a fool proof plan of how to commute to work no matter the situation
• Minimum of a Level 1 food hygiene qualification (proof of certificate)
• Optimistic attitude towards work, even at the busiest times
• Willingness to work with your team & always having the correct attitude towards them
• Imagination & good attitude towards trying new things and creating your own events & menus

Pay: £11.00-£13.00 per hour
