Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, develop innovative menus, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Previous restaurant experience and supervisory skills are highly desirable for this position.

Duties

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and supervision to ensure efficient operations
  • Prepare, cook, and present a variety of high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
  • Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen efficiency
  • Train and mentor junior staff members in culinary techniques, safety procedures, and customer service
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Develop new menu items in line with current culinary trends and customer preferences
  • Ensure the kitchen operates smoothly during service hours, maintaining a clean and organised workspace

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
  • Supervising experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food production techniques
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (HACCP certification is desirable)
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
  • Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles is beneficial but not essential; a passion for delivering outstanding customer service is required
