Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Butchery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our butchery operations, ensuring that high standards of food preparation and safety are maintained. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for food production and culinary arts, looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Duties

  • Assist the butcher in preparing various cuts of meat according to specifications.
  • Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to during all stages of food preparation.
  • Help with the organisation and maintenance of the butchery area, ensuring it is clean and well-stocked.
  • Support the team in receiving and storing deliveries of meat products.
  • Participate in inventory management, including tracking stock levels and reporting shortages.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, following all operational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality food production.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food preparation or production is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with kitchen operations, particularly in a restaurant or butchery setting, is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
