Job Summary

Pochettino Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar in Woking is looking for an experienced Commis Chef / Chef de Partie to join our small kitchen team.

We are looking for someone who already has experience working in a professional restaurant kitchen and understands the pace, organisation and standards required during a busy service.

You don't need fine-dining experience or formal chef qualifications, but previous professional kitchen experience is essential. We are looking for someone reliable, organised and confident in the kitchen, who can work as part of a team as well as independently when required.

Pay: £13.50–£17.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips & service charge.

Both full-time and part-time candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Food preparation and mise en place before service
  • Preparing, cooking and plating dishes according to our recipes and standards
  • Working efficiently and calmly during busy services
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workstation
  • Correctly storing and rotating stock, following FIFO procedures
  • Checking stock and helping to minimise waste
  • Receiving and correctly storing deliveries
  • Following food hygiene and food safety procedures at all times
  • Supporting the rest of the kitchen team with day-to-day kitchen duties
  • Maintaining consistency and presentation across all dishes

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a professional restaurant kitchen is essential
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
  • Able to follow recipes, portioning and presentation standards
  • Reliable, punctual and organised
  • Able to work independently when required
  • Good team player with a positive attitude
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends
  • Experience in an Italian or Mediterranean kitchen would be an advantage, but is not essential

We're a small, independent Italian restaurant, so we're looking for someone who wants to become a genuine part of the team and take pride in the food we serve.

Salary will depend on experience and level of responsibility.

Pay: £13.50-£17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
