Overview
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Butcher or a Qualified Butcher to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills within the food production industry, focusing on high-quality meat preparation and butchery techniques. The position is suitable for individuals with a keen interest in wanting to learn and supply the general public with quality produce. Whether you are starting your career or bringing existing experience to the table. All roles are paid positions, offering valuable hands-on training and professional development. Pay will be dependant on experience and work ethics.

Candidates may have the chance to learn a broader knowledge within the meat industry dependant on skills shown.

Duties

  • Learning or be able to cut carcasses ready for further preparation
  • Assisting with the preparation and cutting of various meats in accordance with company standards and food safety regulations
  • Learning and applying butchery techniques under supervision, progressing towards independent work
  • Ensuring all food preparation meets hygiene and safety standards at all times
  • Organising and maintaining a clean, safe work environment in line with health and safety protocols
  • Supporting the team with food production tasks as required
  • Assisting in stock management, including receiving deliveries and storing products correctly
  • Contributing to the overall efficiency of the food preparation process
  • Following instructions and working within a team to complete tasksCleaning of work areas at the end of the day
  • Previous experience in food production, culinary environments, or restaurant kitchens is advantageous but not essential for trainees; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is desirable
  • Experience in butchery or meat preparation will be considered a strong asset for qualified candidates
  • Familiarity with food preparation techniques, including basic knife skills and meat handling, is beneficial
  • Candidates with restaurant or kitchen experience demonstrating good organisational skills and attention to detail will be highly regarded
