ABOUT THE PRIORY

The Priory is a long-established hotel and restaurant in the heart of Caerleon, part of the Fire & Wine Group. We run a busy 100+ cover restaurant, lively bar, 27 bedrooms, and a full events calendar of weddings and private functions. We're known locally for fresh, seasonal food and warm, standards-led service that keeps guests coming back.

THE ROLE

We're looking for an experienced waiter / waitress to join our front-of-house team on a minimum 30 hours per week contract. You'll be serving across the restaurant, bar and functions — so variety is built in.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Welcoming and seating guests, taking food and drink orders accurately
  • Providing confident, knowledgeable service — food, wine and cocktails
  • Running a clean, organised section and supporting the wider team
  • Using our EPOS system (full training given, but POS experience essential)
  • Working private events and busy service periods with composure

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous waiting / front-of-house experience is essential — restaurant, hotel, gastropub or similar
  • Warm, calm, guest-first attitude
  • Strong communicator — comfortable recommending dishes and drinks
  • Reliable, punctual, presentable
  • Able to work a mix of lunches, evenings and weekends
  • Right to work in the UK

WHAT WE OFFER

  • £12.71/hr base (National Living Wage) plus strong tronc — typical package £14.50+ per hour
  • Minimum 30 hours per week, with more available for the right person
