Full job description

Premium Wedding Waiting Staff & Experienced Bar Staff

Location: Weddings across England
Role type: Ad hoc, flexible event work
Travel: Paid at a fixed rate of 40p per mile
Hours: Predominantly weekends, including long days and late finishes

Just About Weddings is THE wedding brand. As part of our Group, we provide a premium quality wedding food and drink service at weddings through England and abroad. We are looking for outstanding waiting staff and experienced bar staff to join our national events team.

We provide a premium service at weddings, so we are not looking for people who simply want to turn up, complete a shift and collect a pay cheque.

We want energetic, enthusiastic people who genuinely enjoy hospitality, take pride in their work and understand how important exceptional service is on someone’s wedding day.

How the Work Is Offered

This is an entirely ad hoc role, with no guaranteed or fixed hours.

Successful candidates who impress us during the recruitment process will be added to our internal WhatsApp staffing group.

Whenever work becomes available, we will post the:

  • Wedding location
  • Date of the wedding
  • Number of waiting and bar staff required
  • Expected start time
  • Expected finish time

Team members can then put themselves forward for the jobs they are available and willing to work.

Weddings take place throughout England, so you must be prepared to travel. You will need access to reliable transport, and authorised travel by car will be paid at a fixed rate of 40p per mile.

Waiting Staff

Our waiting staff must be:

  • Genuinely excited about working at weddings
  • Friendly, confident and personable
  • Smart, polished and able to carry themselves professionally
  • Proactive and willing to help without constantly being asked
  • Comfortable speaking with guests and providing premium table service
  • Calm, cheerful and efficient during busy periods
  • Reliable, punctual and committed

Previous waiting or event experience is helpful, but attitude, personality and enthusiasm are equally important.

We do not want applicants who are only interested in the pay cheque. You need to enjoy hospitality and want to contribute to a fantastic wedding experience.

Bar Staff

Applicants for bar roles must have strong, genuine bar experience.

You must:

  • Know how to prepare and serve standard cocktails correctly
  • Be able to confidently explain the ingredients in commonly requested cocktails
  • Understand measures, garnishes, presentation and professional bar service
  • Work quickly and accurately during busy wedding services
  • Be friendly, engaging and confident with guests
  • Maintain a clean, organised and well-presented bar
  • Understand responsible alcohol service
  • Work effectively without constant supervision

Bar applicants may be asked to demonstrate their cocktail knowledge during the recruitment process.

Uniform

Uniform tops will be provided.

You will need your own:

  • Smart black trousers
  • Smart, comfortable black shoes

Black jeans are not permitted.

Who This Role Will Suit

This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants flexible, occasional event work and loves being part of weddings.

Our clients are paying for a premium service. Every member of our team represents the company, so appearance, communication, attitude and professionalism matter.

We want people who are properly up for it: people who arrive ready to work, bring positive energy, get stuck in and care about making every wedding a success.

To apply, please tell us:

  • Whether you are applying for waiting, bar work or both
  • Your previous hospitality experience
  • Your usual location
  • Whether you have your own reliable transport
  • For bar applicants, details of your cocktail-making experience

ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE MADE VIA INDEED.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR BOTH WAITING AND BAR STAFF FOR WEDDINGS FROM NEXT WEEKEND!!!!

Pay: £15.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
