We are looking for a talented Sous Chef to join the team at The Grill, one of the Celtic Manor Resort's most popular dining destinations. Renowned for exceptional food, outstanding service and a vibrant dining experience, The Grill offers the perfect environment for a chef who thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen.
As Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in supporting the leadership of the kitchen team, maintaining exceptional food standards and helping to deliver memorable experiences for our guests every day.

What You'll Be Doing
Implementing our "Yes, We Can" philosophy, you will:
Support the day-to-day management of a busy kitchen operation
Lead, motivate and develop a team of chefs and kitchen staff
Order food items and ensure stock is received, checked and stored correctly
Work closely with Restaurant and Banqueting Managers to ensure smooth service delivery
Help manage food costs, menu planning and kitchen efficiency
Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and HACCP compliance
Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
Minimise waste and promote sustainable working practices
Gather feedback from guests and colleagues to continually improve the dining experience

What We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate will have:
NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent qualification
A strong understanding of menu planning and menu costing
Excellent knowledge of HACCP procedures and food safety standards
A minimum of three years' experience within a 4 or 5-star hotel or reputable restaurant environment, ideally with at least one AA Rosette
Previous experience leading and developing a team of five or more kitchen team members
Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification
Strong organisational skills and the ability to perform under pressure
A passion for delivering exceptional food and guest experiences
