Full job description

We're a premium dessert lounge and bakery in Harrow, and we're looking for a hands-on manager to own the floor. Not supervise it — own it. You'll run front of house and back of house, lead the team across a full product range (desserts, baked goods, drinks, food), and be the person who makes sure every shift runs cleanly from open to close.

If you're currently doing a similar role somewhere in central London, living in northwest London, and thinking the commute is starting to grind — this is the job. Same level of operation, ten minutes from home.

We're also a growing brand. If you're the kind of person who's thinking about multi-site management down the line, this is the right place to build toward that.

What you'll actually be doing

You hold the floor. FOH and BOH — no handing off accountability for one side. On your shift, the standards, the team, and the customer experience are yours.

Leadership:

  • Opening and closing: equipment, cash, security, everything
  • Building and managing the weekly rota
  • Directing the team during service — pace, priorities, standards
  • Recruiting, onboarding, and coaching FOH staff and holding them to the bar you set
  • First point of escalation for any issue — resolve it, move on
  • Ordering supplies and managing stock levels — flagging shortfalls before they become a problem
  • Enforcing food safety compliance across the team: temperature logs, hygiene standards, allergen procedures — 5-star EHO, every inspection
  • Daily checklists and display presentation

Day-to-day:

  • Taking orders and delivering an exceptional experience across all product lines — desserts, drinks, food
  • Preparing and serving the full range: hot drinks, cold drinks, plated desserts, waffles, bakery items, light food
  • Keeping the counter, café floor, and displays immaculate throughout
  • Working closely with the kitchen team on timing and presentation
  • Processing orders and payments accurately

What we're looking for

Essential:

  • Supervisory or management experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting
  • Proven track record managing rotas, ordering supplies, and recruiting staff — not just running shifts
  • Comfortable enforcing food safety compliance, not just being aware of it
  • Comfortable running a full product operation — desserts, drinks, and food, all at once
  • Calm and decisive under pressure — not someone who needs hand-holding mid-service
  • Experience in a premium dessert lounge, bakery, or high-spec café (strongly preferred)
  • Full availability for evenings and weekends, including closing — non-negotiable
  • Ambition to grow into multi-site management as the brand expands
  • Right to work in the UK, 18 or over
  • Barista skills
  • Food hygiene certificate Level 2 or above

What we offer

  • Competitive salary reflective of a genuine management role
  • Full-time hours across 5 days including evenings and weekend closes
  • A role with real autonomy — not a figurehead position
  • A growth path as the business scales
  • A product range and setting worth being proud of

Pay: From £32,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
