Café Manager - Lead Something Special!

Are you the kind of person who walks into a café and immediately spots what could run better? Do you energise the people around you, take pride in every cup and every customer interaction, and know how to build a team that actually wants to show up?

If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you and we want you to start as soon as possible.

We're looking for an exceptional Café Manager to take ownership of our café - not just manage it, but truly lead it. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives in a high-pressure, high-expectation environment, holds themselves and their team to an impeccable standard, and genuinely loves the art of hospitality.

We're hiring immediately, so if you're the right person, there's no long wait - just a straightforward process and a quick start.

_____

The Environment

This isn't your average café. We operate at a five-star level and our clientele reflects that - we regularly host celebrities, public figures, and high-profile guests. Our most recent visit? AKON. Our team needs to handle that with complete composure, discretion, and professionalism - making every guest, famous or not, feel genuinely at home.

If you've ever been starstruck on the job, this probably isn't the role for you. If you treat every guest with the same quiet confidence and warmth regardless of who they are, we'd love to talk.

_____

Daily Responsibilities

  • The daily rhythm of the café - smooth, efficient, and consistently excellent
  • Food quality from preparation through to presentation, ensuring every item meets our standards
  • Full recruitment and training of a new team - you'll be building this from the ground up, so your ability to identify talent and develop people is critical
  • Staff scheduling, performance management, and team culture - fostering an environment where people are motivated and proud of their work
  • Food safety and hygiene compliance - non-negotiable, always
  • Supplier relationships and stock management, keeping everything running without gaps
  • Customer experience - creating a warm, calm, welcoming atmosphere where every guest feels taken care of
  • Sales performance and cost control, with an eye on targets and margins
  • Events and promotions that bring people through the door and keep them coming back
  • Social media content creation and management - capturing the life and personality of the café across platforms, growing our presence, and engaging our audience consistently

_____

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a café, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality management role
  • Experience in a busy café or hotel environment - you understand pace, pressure, and standards
  • Immaculate personal presentation - you represent the brand every single day, and you take that seriously
  • Confident, calming customer service - the kind that makes guests feel genuinely welcome, not just served
  • Proven ability to recruit, onboard, and train a team from scratch
  • Experience managing and growing social media channels for a hospitality venue -content creation, scheduling, engagement, and brand voice
  • Barista experience - you know your way around an espresso machine and take coffee seriously
  • Strong working knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety regulations
  • The composure and discretion to handle high-profile and celebrity clientele professionally and without fuss
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities calmly

Desirable:

  • Background in food production, kitchen management, or hotel operations
  • Experience running events or promotional campaigns
  • An existing eye for content - photography, short-form video, or brand storytelling experience is a bonus

_____

What's In It for You

We know that exceptional people have options. That's why for the right long-term candidate, we pay above industry standard - because we'd rather invest in someone brilliant and keep them than cut corners and start over.

This isn't a revolving-door role. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with us, and we're prepared to make it worth their while financially.

  • Above-industry-standard salary for the right candidate
  • Immediate start - no unnecessary delays
  • Real autonomy to build and lead the team your way
  • A dynamic, high-profile environment where no two days are the same
  • The opportunity to work alongside and serve some incredible people

_____

Who You Are

Beyond the skills and experience, we're looking for someone who:

  • Carries themselves with quiet confidence and warmth - not arrogance, not nerves
  • Takes pride in their appearance and understands that presentation is part of the service
  • Has a natural ability to read a room and adjust accordingly - whether it's a quiet morning with a regular or a high-profile visit requiring extra discretion
  • Is genuinely passionate about hospitality - not just going through the motions, but caring about every detail
  • Understands that a five-star experience is built in the small moments, not just the grand gestures
