SALARY FOH

Location: The Punter Oxford
Hours: 42 hours per week
Salary: Competitive salary + high tronc/tips
Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy, high-quality restaurant or gastropub
  • Previous experience in similar leadership role
  • Proven ability to lead FOH teams during busy services.
  • Strong passion for fresh, high-quality food and standards
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
  • Knowledge of FOH health & safety and food hygiene standards

About the Role

One of Oxford’s most popular pub companies is expanding its team, and an exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Punter Oxford as a Junior Assistant Manager.

This role is ideal for a supervisor looking to take the next step in their career, with a clear pathway to developing their skills in the position.

Working closely with the General Manager and senior management team, you will support the day-to-day running of the pub, lead services, maintain standards, and provide excellent customer service to all guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager & senior management team in the daily management of the pub.
  • Lead pub operations and manage busy services confidently
  • Provide cover for the management team during absence
  • Maintain consistently high drinks quality and presentation standards
  • Train, mentor, and develop junior staff
  • Ensure health, safety, and food hygiene standards are maintained at all times

What We’re Looking For:

  • Current or previous experience in a busy, high-end pub or restaurant environment
  • Minimum 2 years’ leadership role experience
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and work within a team
  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer service experiences.
  • Positive, proactive, and professional attitude
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced pub.
  • Adaptable communicator who works well with both FOH teams and senior management
