Assistant Chef

Furzehatt Residential and Nursing Home, 59 Furzehatt Road, Plymstock, Plymouth, Devon

£13.96 per hour

Would suit 1 person as a 40hr per week role on the below set shift times and will include alternate weekend working (both days of the on duty weekend)

Could accomodate 2 x roles at 20hrs per week on set shift times below, again alternate weekend working required for both roles.

7am - 6pm - no split shifts or late nights

Experience in cooking & working alone are Essential. Will need to have experience of staff supervision and kitchen management and must enjoy a "homestyle" cooking approach.

Are you our next Assistant Chef? Here’s more about the role:

  • We are looking for an Assistant Chef who will work with the Chef Manager, to prepare a varied set of quality menus for our residents
  • You will promote and monitor food hygiene and safety standards, carry out risk assessments and clean the kitchen to a high standard
  • You will have daily interaction with residents, visitors and colleagues; therefore we are looking for someone who is friendly, approachable and passionate
  • Experience of working within a catering environment and a valid food hygiene certificate is required.
