Overview

Shift Leader

We’ve had a lot of fun creating Bella. Now we’re looking for a Shift Leader who’ll have just as much fun bringing it to life.

Bella is bold, feminine and larger than life. On Wind Street, Swansea, we’re bringing together cocktails, great food, music, karaoke and plenty of reasons for people to get their friends together.

Downstairs, there’s a fun, fast-paced cocktail bar, a small stage, DJs on peak nights and a great playlist that’s always on. Upstairs, there are private karaoke rooms and a 100-capacity bar for public karaoke.

There’s plenty to get involved in: entertainment, events, private parties, celebrations and impromptu nights out. As Shift Leader, you’ll help bring the whole experience together, supporting the team and keeping service running smoothly across the venue. You’ll lead by example, stay hands-on and give the team clear direction throughout each shift.

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Lead shifts confidently, making sure the team understands their roles and priorities.
  • Give guests a warm welcome and support the team in delivering attentive, professional service.
  • Coordinate the bar and floor teams, adjusting tasks and breaks as the pace of service changes.
  • Keep standards high across drinks, food, cleanliness and presentation, especially when the venue gets busy.
  • Handle guest questions and complaints calmly, resolving issues where possible and involving management when needed.
  • Support and coach team members, giving constructive feedback and helping new starters settle in.
  • Oversee opening and closing duties, cash handling and shift handovers in line with company procedures.
  • Help maintain safe, responsible service, following licensing, food safety and health and safety procedures.
  • Keep management informed about staffing, stock, maintenance and anything else that needs attention.
  • Bring personality, energy and sound judgement, stepping in wherever the team needs support.

Your experience might come from bars, restaurants, hotels, events or elsewhere in hospitality. You’ll have experience supporting or supervising a team during busy service, whether you’re already in a leadership role or ready to take the next step. We’ll provide role-specific training. What matters most is your attitude, judgement, reliability and ability to bring out the best in others.

Bella is part of Creative Hospitality Group, an independent hospitality company with organised processes to support its venues and a relatively flat structure where good ideas are welcomed. What you contribute can help shape Bella as well as the wider company.

Evenings, weekends and peak trading periods are central to this role. Pay, contracted hours and the working pattern will be confirmed for the vacancy.
