Full Job Description

Valentina Restaurant, located in the heart of Weybridge, is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Pizza / Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

We're a busy independent Mediterranean restaurant, specialising in authentic Italian cuisine, artisan pizza, fresh pasta, premium grilled meats and seasonal specials. We pride ourselves on cooking with quality ingredients and delivering consistently excellent food and service.

This is an exciting opportunity for a chef looking to develop their career within a supportive and ambitious kitchen. You'll work closely with our Executive Chef, taking ownership of the pizza section while supporting the wider kitchen during service.

The Role

Working alongside our Head Chef, you will:

• Prepare and cook authentic Italian pizzas to a consistently high standard.
• Produce and manage fresh dough, sauces and pizza toppings.
• Support the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
• Assist with the preparation and service of pasta, grill and starter sections when required.
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
• Maintain consistency, quality and portion control.
• Help supervise and support junior members of the kitchen team.
• Assist with stock control, deliveries and stock rotation.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, HACCP and health & safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.
• Work calmly and efficiently during busy service periods.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Pizza Chef, Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef.
• A genuine passion for authentic Italian food and artisan pizza.
• Experience working with fresh dough and cooking pizzas in a professional kitchen.
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to work well under pressure while maintaining exceptional standards.
• A good understanding of food hygiene and HACCP procedures.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis.

• Pizza-making experience preferred.
• Food Hygiene Certificate desirable.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
