Full job description

Coffee yard Holywood is a family run business established in 2005 we aim to provide a fantastic environment for our customers in which to enjoy consistent high quality food and drinks.

We are looking for someone to add to the great team we already have in place. As assistant head barista you will in full command of our coffee station on the Head baristas days off & when on annual leave whilst covering breaks on the machine daily and jumping off and on the machine during any front of house shifts when orders build up.

If you are flexible with your days , great. If not we can arrange fixed day shifts to suit.

16-32 hours per week 1-2 barista shifts and 1-2 front of house based on your availability.

So if you are looking for regular weekly shifts get in touch. (usually a mix of shifts)

What the shifts entail;

Barista shifts: usually 7.30am - 4.30pm

Opening the coffee station ready for service. Responsible for all drink orders coming through from the tills. Will ensure that all drinks are prepared perfectly and efficiently with an emphasis on organisation, quality, speed, communication and attention to detail. Keeping station and surroundings clean and tidy. Close of station and prep for following day.

Equipment 3 group La Marzocco Linea PB custom spray and Mahlkönig E65S GbW grinder.

If you know your way a little around a coffee machine it would help, dial it in at the start of each shift, make adjustments to grind, extraction times etc. The ability to produce latte art is preferable but not essential.

Floor staff shift 9.15 / 10.15 - 5.15pm

General front of house work helping deliver food and drinks and keeping the place clean, tidy and end of day close.

Must work well in a fast paced environment, on their own and as part of a team tea.

Experience is required

No Sundays / No evenings / paid breaks / staff discount / complimentary drinks

The option to train up on the till taking orders is also area that can be taken up if desired.
