We are looking for a passionate, creative, and reliable Nursery Chef to join our friendly nursery team at Bliss Childcare and Nursery School.

At our nursery, food is an important part of children’s wellbeing, development, and happiness. We are seeking someone who takes pride in preparing delicious meals, maintaining high hygiene standards, and creating positive mealtime experiences for children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children of varying ages
  • Creating child-friendly menus that are healthy, varied, and appealing
  • Ensuring all meals meet food hygiene, safety, and dietary requirements
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and fully compliant kitchen environment
  • Managing food stock, deliveries, and ingredient ordering efficiently
  • Supporting children’s positive eating habits in a caring and encouraging way
  • Working closely with nursery staff to accommodate allergies, intolerances, and special dietary needs
  • Monitoring food storage and kitchen procedures to maintain the highest safety standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Chef, Cook, or Kitchen Assistant ideally within a nursery, childcare, school, catering, or restaurant environment
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety regulations
  • A passion for preparing healthy meals for children
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • A positive, caring, and team-focused attitude
  • Experience with menu planning and dietary requirements is desirable
