Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Chef to join our existing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food preparation and kitchen operations, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety. This role is perfect for individuals looking to advance their culinary skills in a dynamic hospitality environment. As an Assistant Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef and ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
  • Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
  • Support the Head Chef in training new kitchen staff and fostering a positive team environment.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned after use.
  • Assist in planning and executing special events or catering services as required.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented atmosphere, showcasing leadership qualities when necessary.
