About The Fizzy Tarté

Located in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, The Fizzy Tarté is a premium café and cocktail bar known for handcrafted cocktails, Champagne, afternoon teas and memorable guest experiences.

Part of Hargreaves Enterprises, a family-run Lake District hospitality group trading since 1947, The Fizzy Tarté combines premium service with a relaxed, lively atmosphere.

We’re looking for friendly, confident and enthusiastic people to join our Front of House team.

Hospitality experience is great, but personality and attitude matter just as much. If you enjoy meeting people, working as part of a team and creating great guest experiences, we’d love to hear from you.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Pay: £13.00–£13.50 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Monthly Staff Tips: Earn additional income through our monthly tips.
  • Staff Discount: Enjoy a generous 35% discount across participating Hargreaves Enterprises venues.
  • Staff Meals: Discounted staff meals while working.
  • Training & Development: Ongoing in-house training alongside opportunities to complete industry-recognised qualifications.
  • Career Progression: Opportunities to develop into supervisory and management roles across Hargreaves Enterprises.
  • Staff Accommodation: Access to apply for staff accommodation, subject to availability.
  • Team Events: Company events and our end-of-year staff celebration.
  • Wellbeing: Proud supporters of The Burnt Chef Project, helping promote positive mental health and wellbeing within hospitality.

The Role

As part of our Front of House team, you’ll be one of the faces of The Fizzy Tarté and play an important part in the experience our guests receive.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Guest Experience: Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional and attentive service.
  • Table Service: Take food and drink orders accurately and deliver them efficiently.
  • Product Knowledge: Build a strong understanding of our cocktails, Champagne, food and afternoon tea menus.
  • Recommendations: Confidently recommend drinks and products based on guests’ preferences.
  • Bookings: Use our reservation system and help manage bookings and the flow of guests through the venue.
  • Payments: Process cash, card and mobile payments accurately.
  • Communication: Work closely with the bar, kitchen and wider Front of House team to ensure smooth service.
  • Guest Queries: Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, allergens, pricing and bookings.
  • Venue Standards: Keep your section clean, organised and well presented throughout the shift.
  • Opening & Closing: Complete operational opening and closing duties in line with our procedures.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need to know everything on day one, we can teach you our menus, systems and service standards.

What we are looking for is someone who:

  • Is friendly, confident and enjoys talking to people.
  • Takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.
  • Has strong communication skills.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Can remain organised and positive when things get busy.
  • Is reliable and takes pride in their work.
  • Has good personal presentation.
  • Is interested in food, cocktails, Champagne and hospitality.
  • Is willing to learn and develop their product knowledge.
  • Is comfortable recommending and upselling products where appropriate.
  • Can work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, café or similar hospitality environment is preferred, but not essential for the right person.

Why Join Us?

At The Fizzy Tarté, we want people to enjoy where they work while having the opportunity to develop.

Whether you want to become brilliant at Front of House, improve your cocktail and product knowledge, progress into supervision or build a longer-term career within hospitality, we’ll give you the training and opportunities to develop.

You’ll be joining a team in one of Bowness-on-Windermere’s best-known hospitality venues, right in the heart of the Lake District.
