Full job description

Overview

Tripots is a brand-new hotpot restaurant opening in the heart of Cambridge this September, and we are looking for hardworking Kitchen Porters to help us build it from day one.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a busy kitchen team and takes pride in keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and running efficiently. As one of our founding team members, you will play a vital role in supporting our chefs and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.

You will join us in August to take part in pre-opening preparations, helping to set up the kitchen and become familiar with our systems before opening in early September. If you are reliable, hardworking, and want to grow with a young, ambitious brand, we'd love to hear from you.

The restaurant opens in early September; you would join us from August to take part in opening preparations. The role is full-time and in person.

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently.
  • Keep all kitchen, storage, and washing areas clean, organised, and hygienic at all times.
  • Support the chefs with basic food preparation when required.
  • Receive and store deliveries, ensuring stock is organised correctly.
  • Dispose of waste and recycling safely and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties in the kitchen.
  • Follow all food hygiene, health and safety, and cleaning procedures.
  • Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Help maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the restaurant.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar hospitality role is preferred but not essential.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a busy kitchen team.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
  • Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • An intention to build a career in UK hospitality is welcomed.
  • Basic Mandarin is not essential but preferred, as our working environment is bilingual (English/Mandarin).

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to join a brand-new restaurant from day one and be part of its journey.
  • Full training and support before and after opening.
  • Opportunities for career progression as the business grows.
  • Free staff meals and employee discount.
  • Company pension.
  • A friendly, supportive, bilingual team culture.

Details

  • Schedule: Full-time, in person.
  • Start: Late August (opening preparation); restaurant opens in early September.
  • Location: Central Cambridge.

If you are hardworking, dependable, and enjoy being part of a great team, we'd love to hear from you and welcome you to Ripots as we prepare to open our first restaurant.
