Job Summary

As Head Waiter, you will lead attentive, well-organised service, guide the front-of-house team and help guests enjoy a welcoming dining experience. You will coordinate service with the kitchen and respond calmly to changing priorities.

Duties

  • Welcome guests, understand their needs and oversee serving throughout their visit, ensuring clear communication and attentive guest services.
  • Allocate tasks, support colleagues during service and coordinate timings with kitchen staff to keep orders moving smoothly.
  • Check table settings and food presentation, follow food safety practices and assist with food preparation when needed.
  • Explain menu choices, handle payments accurately and identify suitable opportunities to recommend additional items.
  • Your impact: Coordinated service helps guests feel cared for and enables kitchen and front-of-house colleagues to work together effectively.

Qualifications

Required: You will bring hospitality skills, clear communication, sound time management and basic maths for handling orders and payments, alongside a careful approach to food safety. Preferred: Restaurant experience, including serving, is advantageous; kitchen or culinary experience and confidence with guest services and appropriate upselling will also support you in the role.

Pay: £16.00-£17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week

Work Location: In person
